CU-IMPACT

Driving measurable progress toward the SDGs.

Our First Action Towards the SDGs

Meal & Medicine

Meal & Medicine is CU-IMPACT's first action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger and its connection with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being.

Nutrition advice is one of the most frequently provided forms of clinical advice, yet effective nutrition counselling requires more than simply prescribing an ideal diet. Meal & Medicine encourages students to understand what people actually eat, recognize barriers such as affordability and food access, and connect clinical nutrition recommendations with real-life dietary practices.

From Plate to Prescription

Through this student-led, team-based initiative, students explore a specific nutrition challenge within a population or community, examine the gap between dietary advice and real meals, and translate nutrition science into guidance that is:

  • Affordable
  • Locally relevant
  • Culturally acceptable
  • Sustainable

Student Voices. Real Issues. Global Impact.

As part of Meal & Medicine, student teams create 10-minute nutrition education podcasts that communicate practical nutrition guidance and share their learning beyond the classroom. Podcasts may be presented in English or a regional language, encouraging accessible and engaging communication.

Selected podcasts will be published as Spotify episodes and shared with an international audience as examples of student-led, SDG-aligned nutrition education.
